To get to Ella we had to take two buses from Udawalawe. But finally, we arrived. Ella is an amazing little town high in the mountains. Weather in Ella is quite tricky so we decided to wake up early to make sure we have good conditions to see everything that we had planned for our first day.

We woke up at 6:00 and were on the way to the Little Adam’s Peak at 6:40. This hike is quite easy, but the last few meters can be a bit exhausting. Especially without any breakfast hahah. The sky was clear and views from there are breathtaking. For only 40 minutes of the hike, it is the best what you could have ever been dreaming about. You can clearly see Ella rock, much harder hike, that we had planned for another day in Ella. We didn’t meet many people on the way there, but on the top, there were some with the same idea. It was not that bad and in one moment we had the top for ourselves.

After Little Adam’s Peak, we took a path to Nine Arch Bridge.

We were so happy that we woke up early because when we got to the Nine Arch Bridge there were only a few people. And the weather? Just amazing! We also managed to catch the train. Lucky us.

To get back to Ella we followed the train track. Don’t worry, we had checked the train times before! What a lovely first day in Ella. We stopped in a little local restaurant to have finally some breakfast. By the time we got to our accommodation, the weather got much worse so we felt even happier about how we managed to do everything! 🙂
