We slept like babies so as usual, our morning is a little bit hectic, but we are managing to get to the coach station in time. Unfortunately without any stop in a supermarket so the only food for 4/5 hour way is a pack of chocolate cookies. This is truly our curse because wherever we go, our preparation of food is none. So then we are just crying that we are hungry.
In the snack bar at the coach station, there are only crisps so we are taking two packs and getting on to the national express bus number two. We can say right away that our driver is from Scotland. I am maybe the only person in the world, but I am still surprised by the accent. I have not expected that it will be that strong how it is shown in movies, but it truly is. I am having the same feeling like when I first came to England and was not 100% sure if I understand correctly so I just hoped that I do. The bus is even stopping for half an hour during the way, so we can get out of the bus. The rest of the way is fast as always and in a minute we are at the coach station in Glasgow.

Glasgow journey

Glasgow is our last city destination before the wild beauty of Scotland and we are still not having proper waterproof footwear with a good sole. Me with just New Balance shoes and Stepan in his shity shoes from Primark. Luckily right at the coach station, we are finding Blacks. Shoes for Stepan sorted, now me. The first shop, the second one and I still don’t like any of those shoes. Finally, I am taking Karrimor shoes in the sale for 22 pounds from the original 70, so why not right? In the end, I am more than happy with my choice.
Now is time to find our hostel, after all, it is almost 3 o’clock and we have also other plans than just shopping.
The hostel where we are staying is located in the western part of Glasgow where are also all things that we want to see so the location is perfect. Unfortunately, everything else in the hostel has from „perfect“ very far away. But well if it has a roof and toilet, it is enough.  The plan is to check-in and then through Kelvingrove Park to the Botanic Garden, Mackintosh House, Riverside Museum by Zaha Hadid and on our way back to the hostel around Glasgow University.

Right in Kelvingrove Park, we are experiencing the first view on Glasgow. It is not the best, because there are plenty of trees in the way, but it has also its magic. Glasgow reminds me Brno in some way. On our way, we are passing few parts of the Glasgow Uni and Mackintosh house. To the Botanic Garden, we are arriving around 5 o’clock which is perfect timing, because we have something around an hour inside of Glasshouse. It is beautiful.

Glasgow glasshouse jungle

The weather has been really good to us so far and in the sky, there is not even one cloud, the sun is still warm and it is 18°C. Park, where Botanic garden is, is very well maintained. Like any other park in the UK. We are noticing an old lady on the bench who is feeding little squirrels. They are taking one nut after another from the lady’s hand. Stepan is so mean that he is trying to play the little squirrel with a piece of wood. It is buying it for a little while, but she is not thaaaat stupid to get reaaalyyy close. The Park has such a wonderful atmosphere that we are deciding to stick here for a while and buy a coffee. The coffee shop is closing, but the lady is so nice that she is willing to take our order. Lucky us.

Glasgow University

On our way back to the hostel we are stopping at the main building of Glasgow Uni. Herewith the sunset we can enjoy the view of the entire Glasgow, romance.

View over Glasgow

In the hostel, we need to pack everything differently and prepare ourselves to wild Scotland.
Our dream goal or plan was to climb Ben Nevis, but the forecast does not look really great so we are thinking if it is not better to reorganize the whole trip and start in Edinburgh. Eventually, we are deciding to stick to our original plan and hope that if we think positively everything else will come with it. Well, what else can we do?
